Landscaping or Gardening?
Landscaping in surrey in particular is both a science and an art. Design skills are necessary, but you can easily acquire them to the standard you need to transform your own garden. Gardening is more scientifically oriented, but still requires some creative input, Whether we have only a small patio or roof space or a good size urban garden the range of possibilities are endless and to make the most of them we need to understand what’s possible in the space we have available, Our features will include everything to do with gardening. We’ll be including advice on fruit propagation, lawns, seasonal plant selection, pruning, and for the more environmentally minded, organic gardening. We’ll be telling you how to deal with pests and diseases, and focusing on the neglected subject of safety in the garden, You also need to understand the science of your soil. Our articles will help you overcome any limitations your soil type places upon you.
Soil varies not just from county to county, but sometimes from garden to garden in the same village. Even in a seemingly compact and homogenous county such as Surrey the soil can be alkaline and chalky in some hillier parts of the north, but acidic in other Surrey localities where the soil has a sandy base. This all affects what can be grown successfully
One of the keys to achieving success in any landscaping in surrey project is to understand the possibilities and limitations of the site. So we’ll be advising on what to look for. And if the land is totally unsuitable owing to its surface geography or prevailing winds we’ll be featuring advice on ‘grading’ (reconstructing the land by ‘cutting’ and ‘filling’) to make it suitable for your garden and landscaping project.
But there’s more to gardening and landscaping in surrey that digging, planting and layout design. It’s like interior design on the outside. So the correct lighting in particular is essential. In fact investment in the right lighting can create the effect you want with little further attention to the plants and features themselves
Where have all the bees gone
And if you’re not doing enough to help the environment the garden must be the obvious place to start.
We’ll be focussing on organic gardening and showing you how to avoid the use of toxic chemicals to help you create a pesticide free environment. You’ll be doing your bit to encourage the survival of the wild insect species we want, and helping avoid the evolution of the superbugs we don’t, Perhaps you won’t be planning on going as far as ‘Tom and Barbara’ did in their Surrey garden in the 1970s. After all you might have ‘Margot and Jerry’ to consider. But a little organic still goes a long way. Organically grown flowers and produce may be more expensive in the shops than non organic. But in your own garden the reverse can be the case.
